DFG start-up funding and start of cooperation with fischertechnik

In September 2022, initial cooperation talks took place at the "All About Automation 2022" trade fair in Chemnitz. Now the industrial cooperation with fischertechnik has started. Here, fischertechnik supports the establishment of the AI laboratory with machine elements. In view of the "lighthouse effect of this project" and further project ideas from Mr. Dr.-Ing. Grum, according to Mr. Felix Witzelmaier, who is expert at fischertechnik for the training factory industry 4.0, further research funds for projects and cooperations are to be applied for and innovative approaches are planned to be researched under industry-related environments.

Previously, Dr.-Ing. Marcus Grum at the Ruhr University Bochum successfully attracted research funding for a DFG grant with ideas from his dissertation thesis on a composite of AI-instructed cognitive production systems. Prof. Dr. Annette Kluge, Chair of Work, Organizational & Business Psychology at Ruhr University Bochum and part of the decision consortium explains in this regard as follows: "In the decision-making round, we concordantly agreed - Mr. Dr.-Ing. Grum's project and also the possibilities for building research is to be chosen, especially in view of the potential for application systems and industry." Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Gronau and the Chair of Information Systems (Potsdam University) also strongly support the development of Mr. Dr.-Ing. Grum's research group in the field of artificial intelligence by additional employees.
