Offer for practice partners
Would you like to collaborate with the research group?
We offer a wide range of opportunities for cooperation with companies and research institutions. Below you will find examples of cooperation formats.
Are you interested in a collaboration? Do you have an idea for an innovative project? Do not hesitate to contact us! (Contact)
Research cooperations
- Companies participate in research projects as part of research collaborations. Together with the research group, forward-looking topics are scientifically investigated and, depending on the project, translated into practical applications.
- For example, the API-KMU research project developed a VR learning space for the employees of a mechanical engineering company in the adhesive tape industry (to the project)
- Do you have a specific research project and are you looking for scientifically sound support? We can support you with your project. Contact us using this form (Contact).
Cooperation on student project work
- Student project groups offer innovative approaches to challenges. In a project (usually 6 months), selected students work on issues relating to politics, administration and companies.
- These projects are offered each semester to students in the final semesters of their Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics and to Master's students in Business Informatics, bringing together students with a wide range of profiles and backgrounds. The students are supervised throughout the project by research assistants from the research group.
- The possible tasks are very diverse and can range from project management, prototype development or data collection to conceptual solutions for problems.
Cooperation on theses (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate)
- By participating in final theses, companies have the opportunity to introduce their own issues to science and promote an exchange between practice and science. In addition, young people can be convinced of their own company at an early stage.
- Students on the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses in Business informatics and related disciplines are supervised by the research group as part of their final thesis and supported in working on innovative issues for practical application.
Training courses and workshops
- In our Industrial Transformation Lab (InTraLab), we offer a wide range of training courses and workshops in the field of digital transformation and Industry 4.0
- In the hybrid simulation environment of a factory unit, practical topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence in the factory or AR-supported production support can be learned and tried out live
- The InTraLab has the latest technology in the field of AR and VR - from the Apple Vision Pro to the Microsoft HoloLens 2 and the Meta Quest 3 - which can be tried out in interactive demonstrations
- You can find further information on our Website

Final theses
As part of their final theses, students are given the opportunity to deal intensively with issues in the field of AR and VR. The thesis is always supervised by an expert from the research group. From a methodological perspective, these can be of a developmental (design science) or empirical-quantitative nature.
Students writing their thesis in the field of AR/VR are given access to our resources available at the chair by arrangement. These include various VR and AR devices as well as powerful computers for the development of graphics-intensive applications.
The hardware resources include, among others:
- Microsoft HoloLens 2
- Apple Vision Pro
- Meta Quest 3
- Meta Quest 2
- HTC Vive Pro Eye
- Tablet/Smartphone/Desktop PC
You can find advertised topics at Final theses . Your own suggestions for topics are also very welcome.
